Planning Your Wedding

Gifts on a budget

Setting up an online wedding gift list or with a local department store will help those on a budget to give you a special gift but one they can afford. This will also avoid the 3 toaster 4 sets of cutlery problem. Make sure you have a wide selection of gifts on your list. If you have been living together you may find friends will give you money or vouchers instead. Make sure your guests are aware of your choices and your preferred stores whatever you decide.

Insurance

It is very important to arrange extra insurance for your gifts. Check your home insurance and always seek the advice of your broker or insurance company. It has been known for thieves to check the local newspapers to see when weddings are on to arrange to steal gifts when the ceremony is taking place.

If you have decided to have a marquee wedding or an outdoor wedding that could be ruined by freak weather conditions speak to your insurers about cover for the day and have a stand-by plan. It may not be necessary but for the peace of mind extra insurance brings you can relax and enjoy the day.
